Cloughduv National School

Our new junior infant class started here in Cloughduv N.S. on 1st September.
They are settling in very well here!

As part of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme, every school in the country is receiving a copy of the 1916 Proclamation and the Irish flag.
On the 22 September, Sgt Denis McGarry and Gnr Noel Lynch, of the Irish Defence Forces came to our school and presented us with a copy of the 1916 Proclamation and the Irish tricolour, our National Flag.
We look forward to flying the flag on Proclamation Day - 16th March 2016.

A boys team and a girls team, made up of children from 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th Classes took part in the Sciath na Scol football competition during the month of September. While we did not qualify for the finals on our first outing, both teams enjoyed a victory and we look forward with optimism to next year! The teams were organised and trained by Mr. McElroy & Mr. Clifford.

A prize giving ceremony was held in the school in September for the ten children who were winners in the 2015 Sherkin Island Marine Station competition.
Well done to all the winners!
